Samiul Amin
Co-founder
Samiul Amin is Professor of Practice and Director of Engineering Corporate Affiliates Program at the University of Miami's Chemical, Environmental and Materials Engineering Department. He has over 22 years of experience working in industry (L’Oreal, Unilever, ExxonMobil, Malvern Panalytical) and academia, with expertise in formulation design, colloids & complex fluids, rheology, and tribology. At the University of Miami, his research focuses on smart gels and hydrogels, and performance optimization of consumer, cosmetic, and homecare products based on sustainable materials such as biosurfactants and biopolymers. He has served on numerous committees of national and international societies/organizations and has chaired numerous international conferences in the complex fluids/soft matter area. Dr. Amin has extensive collaboration with industry partners across cosmetics, consumer goods, food, pharmaceuticals, bio-pharmaceuticals, and 3D printing.
Yelena Yesha
Co-founder
Yelena Yesha is the Knight Foundation Endowed Chair of Data Science and AI at the Institute for Data Science and Computing (IDSC) at the University of Miami, where she also serves as the IDSC Innovation Officer and Head of International Relations. With over 30 years of experience in the field, Dr. Yesha has published numerous papers in prestigious refereed journals and conferences and received external funding exceeding $65 million. She is a fellow of the IBM Centre for Advanced Studies and has been recognized by Forbes magazine for her accomplishments in technology. Her research focuses on blockchains, cybersecurity, and big data analytics with applications to electronic commerce, climate change, and digital healthcare. Dr. Yesha also has a track record of building successful technology startups.
